Get Personal holds extensive knowledge on
periodisation training. This is the key to preparation for any
event.
No matter what the event, you cannot train
continuously on the same distances, at the same intensities at
the same locations
and expect to get results on race day. Periodisation
means you work out a cycle allowing your body to peak at certain
times and then actively recover at other times.
We call this cycle a macro cycle (a long term
plan to peak your training for a specific event). A macro cycle
is made up of a series
of micro cycles (medium length training plan of between 4 and 6
weeks). A micro cycle is made up of a series of meso (weekly) cycles.
Putting this all together and making sure
there is the right balance between rest and intensity, is an
art. Get the balance wrong and
you could end up in the injury bin. That’s why it makes sense

We will sit down with you and evaluate
your intended event, take into account any previous training,
we’ll look at the time
period to achieve this goal, check your current fitness level,
health factors, time available to train and work on your personal
path to a perfect macro cycle.
Training for a specific event really helps you focus on your workouts.
Having a target event also helps with motivation, providing a focus
especially if you hit a stale point in your training.
